Introducing Meaningful Capitalism

Brant:

Well, I'm Brant Greathouse, I'm the CEO of True Star Capital. And we're based out of Midland, Texas, the great metropolitan area of Midland.

Carl:

Yeah. And I'm Carl Moore, me and Brant own True Star Capital, I'm the CFO. And just in making this podcast, we thought, we can make these long podcasts, or we can do a bunch of these little tidbits, with just nuggets of gold, for day-to-day investors to be able to take and grab that little bit of nugget, and hopefully save themselves some effort and some energy, maybe learn from some of the mistakes that we've already made along the way.

Brant:

So Carl, why are we making this podcast?

Carl:

Man, I just want to keep letting the influence that we have impact people's lives. We've learned so much along the way, that if we just keep it to ourselves, I mean, it'll be fine for us financially, but I feel like you reach this place where you want to start giving back to others. And all of the lessons that we've learned that have brought us to this point, if we were able to have somebody listen to this podcast and then what they could do is, they could go and implement some of that stuff, and they could save some of those thousand dollars mistakes. You have five or six people, I mean, we might have just saved somebody 50 grand by starting this [inaudible 00:01:35]. And you know how you just never know what's going to be, and so just to kind of give back.

Brant:

Well, I liked what you said about what we're doing is helping people learn and skip a lot of the pitfalls that we've had. But I would also say, we want to help people learn to build wealth. And this is not something that we typically learn from anybody other than our parents, so we're sort of doomed to make a lot of the similar paths that our parents make. But we're actually going to be teaching some things that we've found tremendously valuable, that can help propel people forward and condense decades into years.
